Top Gear’s New Power Lap Leader

As most of you may know (and if you didn’t, now you do), Top Gear officially returned to BBC2 for their new season on Sunday night. Marking it’s return was the return of another new Stig who straight away put a new leader on the Power Lap board, the V8 Arial Atom. Completing the course in a time of 1:15.2, 1.7s faster than the previous fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. You need huge cojones to get the most out of it though. With 373kw in a 550kg car you can actually see it snaking on the straight at high speed as it tries to put the power down.

I can’t wait till March when I’ll be making the trip up to Kyalami to see them live again :), until then I’ll have to make do with their new season. The guys are back & they are back at their best… I just hope they keep Tiff around for a while

11-01-21 Street2Strip

The 2011 Street2Strip season kicked off yesterday with a huge turnout, at one stage the entry queue overlapping the race queue. As usual at these events I did more talking than shooting so there aren’t really any photos to speak of but I must give props to Pdubs (Blue RS) for running a 13.5 on street tyres and an unprepared track. It seemed to be the night for hot hatches with Golf 5 & 6 GTi’s, Civic Type R, Focus RS & ST, Fiesta ST, Audi S3 and Renault Megane Sport being represented

“Johnny, a young Korean American from Richmond, Virginia, finds himself transplanted to Los Angeles’ Koreatown. Having been recently dumped by his girlfriend and with no immediate job prospects, Johnny is taken under the wings of his cousin Jason and a motley crew of party hoppers who are dedicated to having a good time and taking no prisoners in doing so.”
