RACEWEB Issue 30 out now

For those Top Gear nuts that can’t wait till the next season for their fix, there’s a new DVD out on the 14th of November… “Top Gear at the Movies”… sadly without Clarkson though
I got up Saturday morning and had a look out the window only to be greeted with pouring rain in the Southern Suburbs and the prospect of the racing being called-off. An SMS and Facebook message later the word got around that the sky’s over Killarney where clear and we were on for a day’s racing. Unfortunately it turned out to be a not so busy day at Killarney during the MSA portion of the event but fun was had and at least one person went home happy, can you guess who…
Things picked up during the Street2Strip portion of the event with the queue of competitors extending half way around Cape Town corner but I must apologies for the absence of Street2Strip coverage, along with the increased crowd attendance and the increase in competitors was also the increase in friends to talk #$%@&#% with 😳

Congrats Ghatiem on you sub 13s pass 😉

Tolla Daniels using his recently fitted parachute last Saturday

Gotta love it 😉
I heard Wesley’s beast would be out in the daylight after having its rear suspension and monster rear wheels fitted so I stopped in at Pro-Fit exhaust to snap a few pics and ended up spending most of the morning hanging, chatting & snapping…ENJOY…

Sunday saw the conclusion of the 2011 SEFAC Giro Del Capo with a track day at Killarney. As I enter the pit area I’m blown away by the number of Ferrari’s, there where more Ferrari’s there than the total number of cars at the average Killarney track day… it was insane to see. The colour, the craftsmanship… and the noise, everything a petrolhead could ask for. Sadly, with a limited amount of time, I couldn’t capture as much of the day as I’d liked, but I had to share the sea of red that was Killarney on Sunday… enjoy
The sea of red as you enter the pit lane

Today saw Killarney hosting a combined Street2Strip and MSA drag practice event to christen then newly laid tar at Killarney. With the MSA guys allowed to run faster than the 13 second Street2Strip limit we did see at least two cars being sent home by the time I left, a Subaru that ran a 12.9 and a turbo charged BMW running a 12.8. A 3rd, a new BMW M5, sandbagged after running a 13.1 to prevent being given his marching orders. With a scheduled 10 hours of racing and great weather, if a little hot, plenty of racing and fun was had by all… on to the coverage…
